Why do I need a manicure?
A manicure improves the skin texture of the nails and hands. It can increase circulation and leaves you relaxed and soothed.
Our manicures include the following techniques and benefits:
- Cleans, strengthens and shapes your nails;
- Attends to any skin problems you might have around the nail, such as broken or sore skin;
- Relaxes and soothes your hands by means of a hand massage.
At each manicure the cuticles are cared for with oils and creams, the nail shape is perfected and final treatment includes base coats and colour applied for a perfect finish until your next visit.
Our treatment is designed to meet the needs of four specific nail types including: brittle, dry, normal or damaged. The manicure encourages the absorbing of essential vitamins and minerals. A true treat!
Pedicure:
A therapeutic foot bath and skin-softening pedicure is followed by a relaxing massage using creams and oils to soothe, refresh and revitalise the feet.
This intensive pedicure uses exfoliation and cuticle treatments to nourish and soften skin. The deep exfoliation of your feet can renew your skin and will provide visible improvements. This treatment can diminish the appearance of wrinkles, decrease visible signs of sun damage and encourage skin cell renewal.
What are the origins of the manicure treatment?
A manicure is a cosmetic beauty treatment for the fingernails and hands performed either at home or in a nail salon by a nail technician. A manicure treatment can be just for the hands or nails, or can be for both.
A common manicure found is the filing, shaping of the nails and the application of polish. There are also manicure services that are specialties for the hands and feet.
For the hands, the soaking of a softening substance and the application of a lotion is a common specialty.
Another common specialty is applying a similar treatment to the feet and toenails. This is called a pedicure. The word "manicure" derives from Latin: manus for "hand," cura for "care."
